Gobi/ Cauliflower Manchurian is a very popular Indo-Chinese dish.. Its a super delicious dish which is very popular among kids.. My version has a crispy exterior and is tossed with a mouthwatering Chinese Sauce..

 

Ingredients

Cauliflower – 1 ( medium sized )
Extra Virgin Olive oil or any other cooking oil – 1 TBLsp
Oil – for deep frying the cauliflower
White Onion – 1 ( finely chopped )

For the Sauce

Spring Onions – 1/4 cup ( finely chopped )
Garlic clove – 6 ( finely chopped )
Soy sauce – 1 TBsp
White vinegar – 1 TBsp
Tomato Ketchup – 2 TBsp
Red Chilli Sauce – 2 tsp
Corn Flour – 1 TBsp
Water – 2 TBsp
Salt – as needed

For the Batter

All Purpose Flour – 12 TBsp
Corn Flour – 6 TBsp
Rice Flour – 2 TBsp
Water – 12 TBsp
Soy sauce – 2 tsp
White vinegar – 2 tsp
Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt – as needed

Method

      1. Heat the 1 TbLsp of Oil in a medium non-stick pan.
      2. Add Onions,  Garlic , spring onions and cook until Onions are translucent.
      3. Add Ketchup and Red Chili Sauce and cook until Oil starts to separate from mixture.
      4. Add Soy Sauce and Vinegar and mix well.
      5. Mix 1 TBsp Corn Starch with 3 Tbsp Water and add it to the pan. Cook for 2 minutes until sauce starts to thicken.
      6. Keep sauce aside.
      7. Now, for the batter, mix the all purpose flour, corn flour, rice flour, soy sauce, vinegar, pepper powder, salt and water in a bowl. Mix well until there are no lumps.
     8. Add in the cauliflower florets and coat them with the batter mixture.
     9. Heat oil in a fry pan and fry them until they turn golden brown.
   10. Once u have finished fryin all the pieces , add it to the pan with the sauce and toss well.
   11. Serve immedietly.
